1224 Harrison, Grand Opening!

Oakland Digital Arts & Literacy Center (ODALC) held the grand opening of their new digital co-working and Internet literacy facility in the Frank G. Mar building located at 1224 Harrison Street, on Saturday, May 29th, 2010.

Distinguished guests that attended the launch event: Jean Quan, Dr. Kitty Epstein, and Dr. Andreas Weigend. ODALC’s service to disadvantaged youth and struggling small business owners in the community empowers them with digital literacy and technology to achieve higher career goals.

Evolution of the Music Business in Web 2.0 – Photos!

The Oakland Digital Arts & Literacy Center’s first public workshop introduced participants to new online technologies, sometimes referred to as social media, and its impact on the digital music business. Through influential speakers and practical hands-on demos, participants examined the current state of the music industry to understand the relationship between technology, music, self-promotion, and the importance of exploring new venues.


ODALC Recycles iMac’s

The MCRC gives old computers new life by placing refurbished products with non-profit organizations, schools, libraries, victims of fire and tragedy, and low-income and disabled households. MCRC volunteer technicians produce computers every week from your donations, to help organizations and families that would not otherwise have the means to obtain this technology. They continue to provide free computers and equipment to local organizations!
