InspireOakland.com: Social Justice, Design & Technology.

Launched in January 2009, InspireOakland.com is a digital media project and community blog presented by Oakland Digital (ODALC) that honors the work of small businesses, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists in Oakland and the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. The site covers local events, socially-minded organizations, and resources for community members interested in:

1. social justice,
2. design & technology,
3. community & economic development, and
4. the green economy.

Oakland Digital’s Inspire Program (e.g. Inspire Oakland) is a workforce development curriculum that encourages interest in graphic design and information technologies through creative expression. The program seeks to incubate overlooked young talent and enable tomorrow’s leaders by giving them tools and strategies to overcome economic barriers to personal achievement and success.
